Lynchburg, VA — On Tuesday, August 25th at 10:30 am the Frederick Douglass Foundation of Virginia and the Bob Good for Congress, “Women for Good” coalition will be hosting a press conference with “Blacks for Trump” Co-Chair, Dr. Carol Swain and 5th District Candidate for Congress, Bob Good.
“We are pleased to be connecting with Black Americans around the State of Virginia. This forum allows us to engage with our community to help inform, educate, and empower them to match their vote with their values,” said JR Gurley President of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of Virginia.
Dr. Carol M. Swain is an award-winning political scientist, a former professor of political science and professor of law at Vanderbilt University, and a lifetime member of the James Madison Society, an international community of scholars affiliated with the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University. Before joining Vanderbilt in 1999, Dr. Swain was a tenured associate professor of politics and public policy at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Dr. Swain is passionate about empowering others to raise their voices in the public square.
Following the press conference, Dr. Swain, Bob Good and other opinion leaders will participate in a round table discussion moderated by the Frederick Douglass Foundation of Virginia. Panelists include member of law enforcement, Dale Sturdifen, Tina Webb, local author and blogger, and other local leaders.
“The Being Conservative in 2020” event will be held at the Albemarle Baptist Church 1685 Roslyn Ridge Road in Charlottesville.
