Lynchburg, VA — In response to today’s ruling in Richmond Circuit Court, Good was quoted as saying “I’m pleased by the decision that Judge Taylor rendered today in dismissing a suit brought by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee against the Virginia Department of Elections. The DCCC’s attempt to disenfranchise the voters of the 5th and 7th districts on election day was a political ploy and did not respect the rights of the tens of thousands of voters who will turn out to vote in November.” Judge Taylor held that the Virginia Department of Elections acted within its statutory authority in granting filing extensions for candidates seeking ballot access.
Said Good, “The Department of Elections has a tremendous job ahead of them with printing and processing millions of ballots, and I am grateful for the work they do to ensure that voters can cast their vote on or before November 3rd for the candidate of their choice.”
